There is something we call the gift of discerning of Spirits, this is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and Christians cannot do without this gift in this end time.
This gift will help you to identify Holy Spirit and Evil Spirit because the Devil now have the duplicate of what the Holy Spirit gives, including speaking in tongues.
I'm going to list some few reasons why Christians must have the gift of discerning Spirits.
1. To identify fake prophets and real prophets of God: Some days ago, God spoke to me about the fake prophets and how to identify them, and one of the ways to identify fake prophets is through the Holy Spirit. I hope you remember that the gift of discerning Spirits is from the Holy Spirit, a man with the Holy Spirit may not be able to identify fake prophets if He doesn't have this particular gift. With this gift, you will automatically know if this is a fake prophet or a real one.
A few days ago, God told me that Satan is bringing new measures to mislead Christians by inspiring some people to post fake videos and articles on the internet, those people will claim that the real men of God are actually the fake ones and the fake prophets are the real ones. Then many Christians will stop listening to their edifying messages and sermons and this will ruin many Christians.
That's why you really need this gift so that you won't be misled.
2. To know if a strange Spirit is within your environment: Pastors are the ones that need this gift most, in most cases, a demon possessed person will come to church to distract people. I've even heard about a pastor that a demon came in form of a human being to church with the aim of killing Him but the pastor have this gift and he was able to know that a strange Spirit is in His Church and the demon finally confessed. There are times I listen to messages and sermons then along the line, the preacher will say "there is a strange Spirit in this place" and that strange Spirit will manifest itself and confess.
Men of God cannot have a successful ministry without this gift. But with this gift, you can identify the presence of the Holy Spirit and that of the Evil Spirits.
3. To identify fake tongues and fake prophecies: Remember that I said Satan has a duplicate of everything that the Holy Spirit gives including speaking in tongues. Demon possessed people also speak in tongues but with this gift of discerning Spirits, you can easily identify fake tongues and genuine ones. There are some fake prophets that will give you a fake prophecy that will actually ruin your life. But when you have this gift, you will be able to know if this prophecy really comes from God or from the Devil.
4. To know if it is the Holy Spirit that is speaking to you or the Devil: Satan sometimes speak to Christians or bring thoughts into their mind but some will actually think that it is the Holy Spirit speaking to them. Satan has really used this method to destroy many Christians, but only a Christian with the gift of discerning Spirits can be able to identify the voice of God and that of the Devil.
5. To know a wolf in sheep clothing: This last point is not applicable to all Christians but only those that has gone far in Spiritual matters.
There was a time I watched a video of a man that had an encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus only gave warnings to Christians that Satan will appear to some Christians with the image of Jesus Christ and some will actually believe all what He said and they will be misled. If Satan or a Demon wants to appear to you, don't ever think that He will come to you with two horns and red eyes and disgusting tail. He will surely come as an angel of light to deceive you.
You really need this gift as a Christian. If you want to receive this gift, pray earnestly to God and He will surely answer you.
